MEXICAN CANYON TRESTLE

We worked with the Lincoln National Forest to tell the story of the “Cloud Climbing Railroad” and to restore the Mexican Canyon Trestle, a National Historic Landmark. The design included an overlook, cantilevered viewing platform, trail system, and interpretive exhibits including kiosks that evoke the engineering of the trestle, graphic panels, a sound mechanism that plays a historic recording of the steam engine, a re-creation of a “log chute”, and a tactile terrain model of the canyon.
