NATIONAL GRASSLANDS VISITOR CENTER

We worked with the USDA Forest Service to develop an interpretive master plan to tell the story of the four million acres comprising the National Grasslands and Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. We also developed exhibit design concepts for the National Grasslands Visitor Center in Wall, SD and created graphic icons for each of the 21 grassland units. These wind-swept seas of grass and wildflowers have witnessed the pageant of the frontier, the Dust Bowl, and the dramatic recovery into a national treasure—one of the most successful conservation stories in the United States.

CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY

The first interractive piece of the new exhibition–a video panel installed alongside a collection of antique ranger equipment–feature a three-part film series covering fire management, its indigenous uses, and its role in the ecosystem.

This exhibit was fabricated and installed in 2020, with more soon to follow!
